This year’s competition was hosted by Corelight and took place right here in Huntsville, AL, at the Von Braun Center. The National Cyber Summit (NCS) itself is one of the nation’s most innovative cyber security-technology events in the country.
'NCS connects senior cyber-tech leaders to those just starting in cyber-tech fields. This is critical to building a stronger, more resilient cyber workforce in government, industry, and academia to ensure we protect our national interest from all enemies foreign and domestic,” said National Cyber Summit Director, Judy Darwin.
The Cyber Cup Challenge took place over the summit’s two days, with the first day being composed of an eight-hour preliminary competition against 2 other high schools and 10 university teams from around the country. To advance to the finals on the second day of the competition, teams had to qualify based on their day one score.
The three HCS teams advanced to the day two finals, which lasted two hours and had the North Dakota State team taking first place. The New Century High team placed 2nd while Huntsville High’s two teams placed 3rd and 4th.
Students from the top three teams received cash scholarships for their effort.
