Huntsville City Schools held a press conference today at Milton Frank Stadium to remind stakeholders about the Fall 2020 Updated Athletic Events Procedures. The new procedures came after a recent announcement from the Alabama High School Athletic Association as well as ongoing guidance from the Alabama Department of Public Health.
Under the new procedures, attendance at the district’s football games will be limited to 4,000, which is a little less than half the total capacity at Milton Frank Stadium. The district will also begin using GoFan as a pre-sale and online purchasing option, allowing parents, students, and fans to bypass the ticket booth at the stadium.
“We just want to have everything ready and safe for the players and the fans,” says HCS Athletics Coordinator Scott Stapler.
Stadium seating at Milton Frank has now been marked off with colored tape so that social distancing can be maintained throughout the game. Concessions at the stadium will now be limited to pre-packaged food, and restrooms will be staffed by monitors that will periodically disinfect contact points.

The district’s football seasons begins Thursday, August 20 with Cullman vs Grissom at A&M and Spain Park vs Huntsville High at Milton Frank.
