Huntsville High School hired Jimmy Gay as the school’s new head football coach.
Gay joins Huntsville from Muscle Shoals High School where he has served as the offensive line coach the past five seasons.
“I am grateful and excited to join Huntsville High,” Coach Gay said. “We want to create a winning tradition. I am ready to begin building relationships with student athletes, families, faculty and staff, and the community.”
During his time in the Shoals, the football team won numerous playoff games and finished with two region championships. He said his goal is to create a winning culture at Huntsville High by developing tough and physical football teams.
“We are going to find ways to win. You must win the hitting war, and you must be tough and physical if you are going to win games.”
Gay won a state championship as the head coach of Parrish High School. He also coached at Cordova High School from 2013-2018 where he had multiple playoff wins. He started his coaching career at Dora High School in Walker County.
Gay played offensive line at the University of North Alabama (UNA) where he was a four-year letterman and member of the 1993 and 1994 national championship teams.
