The Grissom Fishing Team finished first in the Alabama Student Angler Bass Fishing Association’s (ASABFA) State Championship on Wheeler Lake. Grissom competed in a field of 225 teams from across the state in this two day championship.
Grissom was represented by the teams of Adyn Middlebrooks/ Nathan Garrett, Eli Dix/ Jacob McKinnon, Parker Salvail/ Aiden Dobbs, and Brody Mitchell/ Cole Mitchell. Brody and Cole Mitchell took first place in the event, and Parker Salvail and Aiden Dobbs earned a tenth place finish. This first place finish earned Brody and Cole a spot in the Bassmaster High School National Championship, which will be on Lake Chickamauga this August.
Grissom won first place in the Team Championship as well as winning first place as School of the Year. The School of the Year competition factors in total points earned by the school throughout the year.
